Greetings, Welcome to my web site and welcome to the worlds that I create in my art work. Mary, Mary is having a few problems controlling her garden and the creatures that have taken up residence there. Oh what to do? Poor Mary has a problem to solve. Mary is a creation of mine that is a three dimensional relief sculpture about 25 in. long by 15 in. high and 2 in. deep. That is why it is a relief sculpture: it has depth and has many layers, some that stick way out, some that are a little way out, and some that are flat. Mary hangs on the wall and is framed and protected with museum glass so light reflections are not a problem. Mary, and all my art work, is brought to you by the magical workings of a copying machine and a lot of cutting and arranging of different images. Like all my work, I have decided to explore and unusual art media, the copy machine, just like the one you use. My images come from many different sources such as The Bloomingdale’s Illustrated 1886 Catalog, The 1800 Woodcuts by Thomas Bewick and his School, The Music Book (a pictorial archive of woodcuts and engravings), and tons more. That copy machine we all use can do a lot more then you think and I have pushed it to its limits. All of my art work contains copies that are then sized, glued, and decoupaged with acrylic gel. I try to keep all my art work acid free and the majority of the works are housed in Plexiglas boxes of framed with museum glass for protection. So please enjoy them. Take a look at what happened after man landed on the moon, planted his flag, then left. Try and figure out where Chris took the wrong turn, or just why the Joneses always have the best parties. My work comes in a variety of sizes. Some are free standing 3 dimensional sculptures, and some are 3 dimensional relief sculptures that can hang on a wall. I think one is even just two dimensional. I hope you enjoy what you see and leave my web site with a smile on your face. Maybe one of my worlds will stay with you in your home for a long time to come. Sincerely David Alfuth. Please do not forget to click on the details. You will be missing a lot if you don’t. |
